Mississippi MudCats Announce their Dancers for the 2008 Season
Magen Snyder is the 20 year old daughter of Gene and Sheila Snyder of Belden. She is currently enrolled in cosmetology school and is also a realtor for Crye-Leike. Magen has danced for over fifteen years and this is will be her second season as a MudCat dancer.

Julie Waters is a Kinesiology major at Mississippi State University and has been dancing for 15 years. She was a cheerleader for 7 years and danced with the Fireants for 4 years. Julie is honored to be a part of the Mississippi MudCats’ future success.

Shereka Staples is 23 years old and a Tupelo native currently working as an accountant. She cheered for two years at Tupelo High School and danced for 2 years at Itawamba Community College. She was a dancer for the Tupelo Fireants and is excited and honored to be participating for a second season with the Mississippi MudCats.

Jessica Bard is 18 years old and graduated from South Pontotoc High School in 2007. She is now attending Itawamba Community College with a major in Nursing. She is a member of the Randolph Baptist Church.

Lauren Gillespie is 22 years old and is from Pontotoc. She attends Mississippi State University where she is a junior majoring in Elementary Education. She is an active member of Green Valley Baptist Church in Pontotoc and says the most important things in her life are God and family.

Candace Elrod is a 21 year old graduate of Shannon High School where she was a Varsity Cheerleader for 3 years. She is enrolled at ICC and will graduate in May as an EMT. Candace has also been a certified lifeguard for 6 years and is an avid football fan.

Nichole Smith is the 21 year old daughter of Christy and Steve Miller of the Tupelo community. She is a junior at Mississippi State University majoring in Marketing. She has been dancing for eighteen years, and says that it is her passion. This will be Nichole’s second year as a dancer with the MudCats and she is looking forward to fulfilling her job as a role model for young girls.

Kayla Ligon is 19 and a sophomore at ICC majoring in Elementary Education. She was a cheerleader at Shannon High and a previous member of the ICC Dance team. She attends First Baptist Church in Verona.

LaShae Gillespie is 24 years old and was a cheerleader at South Pontotoc as well as an ICC Indianette. Currently, she enjoys her job as a teacher at South Pontotoc Middle School.

Johnna Flake is 25 years old and married to Jimmy Flake of Pontotoc. She was a cheerleader for 7 years and is currently a dance and cheer instructor. Johnna teaches second grade at South Pontotoc Elementary where she also coaches the high school dance team. She attends First Baptist Church of Pontotoc.

Hailey Shelton is the 20 years old daughter of Mark and Tammy Shelton. She is Radiology major at ICC and was on their dance line for 2 years. She currently attends West Heights Baptist Church.

Kelcie Mabry is 19 and is attending ICC with a major in International Business. She was on the Shannon High School dance line for 3 years and is currently an ICC Indianette. This will be her first year with the Mississippi MudCats.

Amber Austin is 19 years old and is attending ICC, where she is a member of their dance team. She was a South Pontotoc cheerleader as well and is looking forward to a rewarding first year as a MudCat Dancer.

Casey Wilder was 2006 Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen. She attends ICC and is a member of their choir. She is also a member of Green Valley Baptist Church.
21. Cheri’ Griffin is one of the original members of Dallas Cheer Academy and was a member of the all star team that won nationals. She cheered throughout high school and works as a cheer coach for DCA. Sheri recently became a licensed realtor and is a member of Thaxton United Methodist Church.

Angie Dallas – MudCat Dancer Coach

Angie Dallas is a Pontotoc resident who is married to Tim Dallas with three boys; Canden 15; Caulen 12; Carsen 6. Angie is the owner and head coach of the award winning Dallas Cheer Academy. She is a member of Anchor Baptist Church and is honored to be coaching the Mississippi MudCat Dancers for a second season.
