BALTIMORE -The Mississippi MudCats headed home late Saturday after a 63-47 win against the Baltimore Mariners improved their record to 4-0.

"Any time we can take a long road trip, get the win and nobody gets hurt, then we're happy," said head coach Brian Brents. "We've had two long bus trips the last two weeks and we're ready to get off the road."

Tommy Jones threw six touchdown passes, three each to Darryl Carter and Maurice Avery, and ran for another. Rico McDonald added a pair of rushing TDs.

The MudCats led 28-12 at halftime. "Our defense had a little bit of an off night, but they made some stops and we just kept scoring," Brents said.

The MudCats open a three-game homestand on Saturday night against the Carolina Speed.
