Tupelo, Miss., Oct. 11, 2007 – The Mississippi MudCats are gearing up for their 2008 season and are pleased to announce the upcoming auditions for their cheerleading squad, the Mississippi MudCat Dancers. The preliminary auditions will be held on Oct. 28 at the BancorpSouth Conference Center adjacent to the Arena, with check in at 1 p.m. and auditions beginning at 2 p.m. Potential team members will audition in three preliminary rounds that include performing skills, a choreographed routine and interview with judges.

The finals will be held on Nov. 9 at the Milam Elementary School Auditorium at 6 p.m., where the girls with perform a 1 minute routine of their choice. The MudKitten Audition Finals will be open to the public and every attendee will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dancer. Tickets for this event may be purchased at the door or at the MudCat Office at the BancorpSouth Arena.

The requirements for the MudCat Dancers are that you must be over 18 years
of age and out of high school; dance, cheer or gymnastics experience is preferred but not required. Cheerleaders must be available to perform at approximately seven home games beginning in March and available for 2 hour practices on Sundays.
