(Tupelo,
MS) - The Mississippi MudCats of the American Indoor Football
Association announced that they have re-signed Veteran
Wide Receiver and Mississippi native Darryl Carter for
the upcoming 2008 season.
Carter (6’3"-220) a Laurel, MS native, is preparing
for his fifth season of indoor pro football and his second
season with the Mississippi MudCats. Carter is a returning
team captain who had 31 touchdown receptions for the MudCats
in 2007 and has
twice been an Indoor Pro Football All Star and is currently
ranked 5th in the AIFA.
Before playing with the Mississippi MudCats, he played
with the Tupelo Fireants.
He
played collegiate football at the University of Louisiana
Monroe and high school football at Northeast Jones High
School and was selected as a Mississippi High School Dandy
Dozen. Darryl lives in Tupelo and is employed by the Tupelo
Public School District.
“Darryl
is a coach on and off the field and a true team player,”
said Head Coach Brian Brents, “and he is a fan favorite
here in Tupelo being a coach at Tupelo High School.”
The
Mississippi MudCats are preparing for their at home season
opener against the Fayetteville Guard from North Carolina
